The pink neon sign flashed twice before a bang erupted and the sign finally sparked on and stayed on. The red clad man swear softly, shaking his hand and staring at the new dent in the breaker box. He walked back inside his office when mutterings concerning the pricey repair of such a fancy light, slammed the door once he got through it. Stopping in the middle of his office, the man ran a gloved hand through his silvery white hair with a deep sigh. His face was a little gaut and paler than normal, but his body was still in shape and he still carried himself with a certain attitude strictly defined as his very own bad ass, macho man. It was only, slightly lessened in his new brooding mood.
Dante walked behind his desk and sank down wearily into his chair. It was old and worn, but only for the better as far as he was concerned. He gave another sigh as he plopped his feet on the desk and leaned back in the chair, arms behind his head with eyes closed. He had just got back from a particualrily weary job. Not hard, by any means, just tiresome and cliched. A tad boring actually, compared to his "usual" bouts to Hell and back. He decided before he even got back that he would relax as he waited for another job to come up. A little nap was definitely in order...

Moments after Dante's nap had begun, the door to his office had creaked open, followed by the jingle of the bell that had hung above the door. The soft thud of boots sauntered slowly up to his desk. The young woman had stopped and tilted her head slightly observing his paler features. It had been a long while since she had seen his face, since the Temen-Ni-Gru had fallen in fact.
Dante’s paler features intrigued her while the dark circles under his eyes made Lady wonder what he had been though in the past three years to cause him to look so tired.
Of course she has changed herself. She had a few more scars on her body, including the last one her cursed father gave her. It had become a gnarled and deep scar. Not to mention her newest deep cut across her right cheek held shut with a few butterfly band-aids.
Lady cleared her throat loudly after a few minutes of studying him, “Dante?” she asked, in a soft voice, the fire and hatred calmed now that her father was dead.

Glacier blue eyes snapped open at the soft intrusion. Dante peered at the woman in front of him carefully, lips pursed as he scrutinized her. Making small clicking sounds with his tongue, he made to get up but thought better of it and simply removed his feet from the desk. He waved a hand for her to take a seat, indicating a chair against the left wall that she could drag over.
At first his mind simply decided this was a new client to get down to business with, but as he continued to study her the small feeling of familarity began to grow until it finally clicked, as he stared straight into her bi-colored eyes, that he knew this lady. That in fact, this was Lady. A faint smirk formed on his mouth, a bit of his old self returning at the sight of her.
"Well, hello there, Lady." He said in simple jest.

A small smile spread across her lips, “Hello Dante, long time no see.” She greeted softly before walking over to the indicated chair and dragging it up to the desk and sat in it opposite him, facing him.
Lady straightened her navy blue tank top, before resting her hands in her lap, studying his face once again. She gave him a sad frown and tilted her head to the side in puzzlement, “You look different. Are you alright?” she asked.
She crossed her legs and straightened a crease out of her black shorts. She was concerned for the way her old friend looked. He was paler more tired looking. When she looked in his eyes they looked duller than they used to be.

He waved a hand dismissively at her question, rolling his eyes towards the ceiling at her concern. He wouldn't admit it openly, but he dispised sympathy in his new disposition. He studied her calm appearance for a moment before continuing the conversation. "You know, you're being alot more quiet and relaxed than I remember you..."

Lady sighed and looked down at the hardwood floor, "Things have changed. I guess. I’m no longer that angry teenager.”
For a brief moment she smiled sadly at her past memories of him before looking up at him again, “What about you? You have changed too. You’re not that loud obnoxious half-demon I remember.” She gave a slight smirk.
At that moment she faintly noticed the cut on her cheek trickling some blood. This was most likely from her smirking reopening the wound. Lady reached up and wiped the spot of blood away from her lower cheek then turned her attention back to Dante.

He eyed the wound for a moment, wanting of course to ask about it, but first things first. He replied to her observation with a shrug. "Yea, I guess I grew up a bit too. But ya know what? I still live for the fight and fight with style!" A semblance of his old self shined through in a cocky smirk.
He then waved off his statement with a hand as his emotions leveled out again. Focusing on what was probably the reason for the visit, he pointed to her cheek before letting his arm fall back to its idle position. "So, what's that all about? Losing your skills as well as your edge?" Apparently not all of his old self was gone. It wasn't as hyped, but the rude and sarcastic remarks were obviously still in his vocabulary.

Lady sat up straight and glared at him a little, her old side surfacing, “Unlike you I am not a demon. I don’t heal fast and don’t have fast reflexes.” She scoffed, turning her head away from him for a moment.
Her quick movements and her anger caused the wound to seep a bit more blood, but this time she ignored it. She looked back at him and sighed, “I will have you know I am here because-” she paused a moment, trying to find the strength to say the words she didn’t want to. “Because, the thing that gave me this,” she pointed to her cheek. “Is too tough for even me.” She admitted quietly.
Lady cringed a little, fearing he would laugh and mock her weakness and being human. She cursed herself inwardly as she felt her pride rip to shreds. Lady was beginning to think that it would have been better if she let that demon kill her.

He merely stared seriously at her for a long time, allowing the silence to reign the air. His face looked harsh and ungiving, yet he hardly wanted to convey apathy. Rather, his thoughts were more along the lines that being half demon wasn't always such a great thing either; it helped him hunt what he hated most, but beyond that life it was nothing but a burden lurking just beneath the surface.
He mentally shook his head clear and focused his eyes on her dripping wound as he spoke in calm, deadpan words. "I see. Well then, I'll be glad to assist you in ridding the world of this monster if you ask it of me."

Lady looked away from him then stood and wiped off her cheek, leaving a small streak of blood running from her cut to her jaw line. She turned to the door, not bothering with looking back at him she just stared straight ahead. "Fine. I guess you should know then that this demon is hard to kill." she paused for a moment before continuing, "Every time it touched me I felt like I was getting weaker." she informed in a rather distant voice.
She frowned to herself, she was hoping for some pity. Then she remembered something she always told herself. "never expect pity from a demon mary." she mummbled to herself.
Lady quickly looked over her shoulder back at Dante, "Do you want to help?" she asked.

Dante gave one single nod as he pushed himself to his feet. Standing, he adjusted his coat with a swinging pat and bounced from one foot to the other a few times in anticipation. He checked Ebony and Ivory in their holsters, stroking the handles in a comforting manner. He grabbed a sword off the wall, Alastor he noted with mental satsifaction, and swung it on his back.
Walking around the desk, he faced Lady and gave another small nod before continuing on without a word. On second thought, he grabbed Cerberus as he walked by the three-chained nunchaku hanging on the wall beside the door. Ushering Lady outside, he closed the door and walked past her as if he knew where he were going already. A slight pause and he glanced back at her over his shoulder. "Ready when you are, babe."

Lady nodded slightly and started down the street, leading Dante away from his place of business towards where her fight was earlier in the night.
She adjusted Kalina Ann on her shoulder, it swinging back and forth behind her, occationally revealing a long deep scar on the back of her thigh.
She looked back over her shoulder a moment at the strangely silent half-devil, “So, what have you been doing all this time. I haven’t heard a word from you in three years. Were you avoiding me?” she asked, attempting to make conversation with him.

Dante eyed the huntress with a critical eye from behind. When she looked at him, his head came up to look into her bi-colored eyes. He gave a dismisive shrug. "I've just been busy with the business, that's all."
He focused on where he was walking after his reply and kept silent. After a good five minutes of silence though he picked the dropped conversation back up as if it had never broken off. "Besides, I didn't think you'd want anything to do with me. Why should you? I may be on your side, but I'm still just a half-breed demon." He didn't say it with scorn, merely stated it as a fact.

Lady looked straight forward again and sighed a little before closing her eyes. Her feelings towards demons have changed some but she didn’t say anything. She gave him no snappy remarks, no words of spite, just a sad silence washing over her. Obviously sad that he only remembered her as the angry teenager who hated all demons.
Several moments passed as she stopped on the corner of the street and looked down to the left. “We are almost there.” She informed quietly, before turning in the direction she was looking, continuing her walk.
She remained quiet and distant the rest of the way to the abandoned parking lot. Her mood almost depressing as it rolled off her.

He didn't reply to her words, only stared straight ahead where he could see the signs of a previous battle. Various scar marks from small explosions littered the cement of the parking lot, indicating that either Lady missed because the opponent was too quick or that Lady's rocket launcher had no effect on the demon enemy. Neither option boded well.
At the edge of the lot Dante finally stopped, motioning to Lady, who he had moved up beside as they drew near, to stop as well. He made a quick sweep of the lay of the land with his gaze, looking for the demon who's presense he could faintly feel in the back of his mind. The creature was definitely still nearby, but where exactly Dante couldn't yet pinpoint. He moved forward cautiously, holding a hand back to indicate that Lady was to stay put for the time being.
