Alright. Everything's been updating and I've been getting upset at it. I can deal with the messageboard, I'm pretty much used to its new crap. And I thought the same for ff.net too. That is, at least, until I decided to add a new story. Now I have run across several things that severely piss me off. Specially this late at night.
1.) It doesn't recognize parathensis in the summary section. Minor and stupid, I know. But I can't help it. 2.) The format to getting there is all new. Ok, well not that new... but it was stupid to me at first sight. Why can't people keep things the way they are? 3.) The most annoying thing is this: it does not recognize special characters in the actual story. In the story! Not summary, but story! Piece of crap! I hate it! My precious asterik has disappeared and I'm pissed!
I feel like boycotting ff.net, but haven't anyway else to go. Well, not really. *Sighs* Oh well. It's stupid though, I tell ya. Stupid.

It's a pain I know. I can't put in a proper summary on 'Trial of Skill' because it won't let me. I managed to convince it to allow 4 more letters, but that was it and that took some doing.
When I uploaded a new chapter last week, it said I hadn't so I uploaded it again and then found I had 2 copies in the uploaded documents section and had to delete one. Minor, but an irritant anyway.
I'm thinking about making my own website for my stuff, but I still like the review system and the new stats are shiny. I like that bit, and that you can now see how many favs particular stories are on, which you couldn't before.
So I don't know what I'll do. I'll stay for the time being. I think for me, it depends on how many 'badfics' turn up on the DMC section. If there ends out too many then I don't see the point in staying because trying to find decent stories in among all the rubbish is too much effort and I'm lazy XD *end rant*

I agree with you there. I hate searching desperately through crap to find something worth while. It's pathetic. But with nowhere else to go, what's a writer to do? Oh well. I have a webpage, but I haven't messed with it in so long it's pathetic too. *Sighs* There goes that laziness. Buuuuut... now that I think about it, if someone were to prod me into work, I could might make something for the few of us? *Shrugs* If you like that is. But I'm certainly no expert. I really like the reviews and favorites too. That's the best part. And it's hard to get hits on an inidividual website. Although if you want to go somewhere new, I found a place last night. Didn't think to mention til now. It's here: www.ficwad.com/index.php

Alright. I'm officially pissed now. Rukku, Mor, you got a forwarded email of the crap I just complained to ff.net about. The scoop? The damnable people at ff.net decided to delete one of my fictions. Why? I haven't the slightest clue! It says "Main reason for removal: 'Not allowed: interactive, chat/script, real person, mst, and etc.'" But, you've all read that story, what the heck in my story is even remotely consistant with that? I don't know either!
Geez... I'd say more, but I'm too tired to think about it right now. I did send an email in, but who knows what good that will do. I'm not even sure I sent it in to the right place. Whatever. The thing that irks me the most though is that my reviews are gone. Now I can never go back and see what people said about that fiction. That pisses me off more than anything. I liked knowing what people thought. And now that's gone. Damn ff.net to the bottoms of Hell. Rest assured, I will be ranting about this for more than one day.

I've had the same problem. They removed The Road from Hell so now I can't upload the latest chapter of Losing Ground even if I wanted to. I am seriously pissed off. Can anyone see what possible guideline it violated? Because I'm damned if I can, apart from maybe I forgot to take out the numbers when listing the conditions of the challenge.
Considering they apparently have a vendetta against songfics, it's amazing how they get left on there and a perfectly valid fic gets removed. I'm not even going to argue about it because I can't be asked. Once I finish LG I shall be finding a new home for my fanfiction.
I agree. Damn ff.net to the depths of Hell and may it be tortured forever more.
I am seriously not happy. I couldn't understand why they deleted yours either. It made no sense to me. I will be ranting about this for some time too. The only advantage I had was it wasn't up there long enough to get any reviews so I haven't lost anything.
I might just annoy them and post it again as soon as I am allowed to.
Edit: I have now posted The Road to Hell at Ficwad. Yes, freedom from restrictions woo!

If anyone's interested, this was the email I sent to ff.net this morning, because I changed my mind and thought stuff it you gits, I'm going to make a noise XD
I would like to complain about this email you sent me this morning (see below). I would like it to be clarified for me why this story was removed.
I have read through your guidelines numerous times, and quite thoroughly this morning.
I feel I have been unfairly penalised by you in this matter.
It says that challenges are not allowed. Is this challenges posted for people to read and attempt to write, or the actual piece of fiction itself not allowed to be a challenge response? If the latter is the case then I feel that not to be allowed to post a piece of fiction just because someone else has determined what it may or may not contain is unfair and unjust because it is still a valid fictional story. Also, unless the author chooses to state that it is a challenge response, then you could not tell either way. I also fail to see why I specifically should be penalised for a challenge response when so many others are not.
There is nothing to state that you cannot make a list of bullet points specifically within the author notes to clarify particular points of the fiction. Which is the only part of my fiction that I could see that would cause any belief that an infraction had occured.
I feel that the restriction on my account has been unfairly placed. If you feel however that it is justified then I suggest that you update your guidelines to clearly state what is and isn't allowed to be added into the short author notes that many people use for a variety of reasons. Also to state precisely what is meant by challenges not being allowed, so that there is no further confusion in this matter.
In light of this, I will not be renewing my subscription to your support services again.

I heartily agree. This is pathetic. Do they like, get off by deleting perfectly good fiction or something? Geez! I'm so upset now... I can't even properly rant and rave about it right now! Grr...!!!

Erk, sounds like there's a troll in the DMC fandom. The problem with FFnet is they apparently don't look at what they're deleting first, so goodfics get deleted, while badfics go unnoticed. Very annoying, but yeah, you knew that already... *cough*.
FicWad looks half promising so far, though.

It's a person, I'd imagine. General slang for some kid with too much time on their hands who goes around anonymously causing general upset for whatever reason.
For a example, say, a Dante/Lady shipper who can't stand Dante/Trish who goes around flaming/reporting D/T fics regardless of what they're like. Or someone who fakes writing really awful fanfiction just to see what response they'd get, would be a Troll of sorts.
There are many sub-species of Troll, it's a generalisation-type thing XD

Yes, some people are, but if ff.net weren't gits and actually checked what they were deleting, then trolls couldn't do that sort of thing.
So I still think the blame ultimately lies with FF.net.

Yea, I agree. Stupid trolls shouldn't have so much power. Now, if more than one person maybe complained... that's another story. But deleting a one time offense without looking? That's crap! I hate people...

[glow=blue,2,300]Does anyone know why FF.net started to ban NC-17 fanfics? I still think that they should give more space to type summaries too. [/glow]
